Horses are matched with riders based on the student's ability level and the horse's temperament. For the most part, until a rider advances, they will ride the same horse. We have a few beginner-level horses and will alternate as needed. Students are given the opportunity and encouraged to get to know all our lesson horses as each horse can teach us something new.

Each of our horses is a rescue. They are here to live out their lives and have a variety of backgrounds, from retired racehorses to Amish buggy horses.

We understand some people have a fear of horses. They are large animals and communicate differently from your pets at home. All animals and sports come with a set of safety precautions, and we make every effort to meet them. Our horses are well-trained and experienced lesson horses. We also offer an extensive safety and horsemanship class that all riders are required to take before lessons.
